In ancient Chinese astrology and folk belief, Literary Star is the patron star of literature, scholars, and the civil service exams. As the fourth star in the Northern Dipper, it holds a special place in the hearts of students. According to legend, anyone with breathtaking literary talent, or anyone who manages to score top honors in the imperial exams, is believed to be the earthly reincarnation of this star. To this day, students flock to shrines before major exams to pray to Literary Star, hoping for a flash of divine inspiration and a coveted spot on the passing list.
