The name "Broken Bridge" dates back to the Tang Dynasty, immortalized in Bai Juyi's verse, which lamented its desolate, moss-covered state. In his day, the bridge was likely smothered in wild growth; today, it is veiled by weeping willows, the long causeway draped across the water like a trailing silk ribbon. The landscape has transformed entirely. When the winter snows finally melt, the white frost atop the bridge's arch melts first, while the causeway banks remain heavily blanketed. From a distance, the snowline appears abruptly severed, earning the beloved title, "Lingering Snow on the Broken Bridge." Since antiquity, this has been the lake's most bustling crossing. I only fear that one day, buckling beneath the endless crowds, the bridge may finally live up to its name.
