Among the southern ranges embracing the lake, Leifeng Peak stands closest to the shore. The ancient King of Wuyue, a devout Buddhist, commanded that a grand pagoda be raised upon its summit. Though the original vision was never fully realized, the structure rose majestically above the forest canopy. To truly witness the "Sunset over Tower," however, you must not climb the peak. Instead, you must wander to the Long Bridge on the eastern shore and gaze westward as daylight fades.
