【Palaces and Halls · Three】\n\n【Temples】\n\nLingyin Temple\nSong Zhiwen\nThe Vulture Peak towers high and steep, the Dragon Palace locked in deep silence.\nFrom its towers, one watches the sun rise over the sea; its gates face the tidal bore of the Zhejiang River.\nCassia seeds fall from the moon, celestial fragrance drifts beyond the clouds.\nClimbing the pagoda afar by grasping vines, fetching distant spring water by hollowing wood.\nFrost is light, yet flowers bloom more; ice is thin, leaves have not yet withered.\nFrom youth, I admired distant wonders; seeking and facing them washes away worldly clamor.\nAwaiting the path to Tiantai Mountain, watch me cross the stone bridge.\n\nIn the Rear Meditation Hall of the Broken Hill Temple\nChang Jian\nAt dawn I enter the ancient temple, the first sun shines on the tall woods.\nA bamboo path leads to a secluded place, the meditation hall deep amidst flowers and trees.\nMountain scenery delights the nature of birds, pond reflections empty the human heart.\nAll sounds here are utterly silent, only the chime of bells is heard.\n\nHall of the Pure Land\nLiu Zongyuan\nHabitual tendencies have no beginning, drowning in the source of suffering.\nFlowing through forms until this world, I first awaken to the Three Gates of Emptiness.\nThe splendid hall opens the pure realm, its images radiant and abundant.\nCool and clear, burning all incense, subtle and wondrous, singing the Dharma words.\nI bow my head, ashamed before the guiding teacher, transcending afar, bidding farewell to the dusty gloom.
